William K. Stubblefield is my GGF and was born 30Oct1825 in Grainger Co., Tennessee. His father was Robert Stubblefield (b.07Apr1803) and his mother was Elizabeth Kirkham (b.1801). Robert and Elizabeth had six children. William was the third child and only son.

William left home when he was fifteen(~1840) while living with his father and step-mother(Elizabeth Kennedy) in Polk Co., Missouri. After leaving home, William lived in Missouri, Illinois, Texas, Arkansas, and finally came to Oregon in 1884.

"Uncle Billy" was married six times to the following women and had a total of 24 children (15 sons, 9 daughters):

The earliest record I have on Wm. K. after leaving home is the marriage information to Malinda Irpe. The next information was the 1850 census showing W.K. living in Miller County, Missouri with his wife Lucinda, age 30, and children all born in Missouri:

2. Martha, age 2
3. Robert, age 8 months

Next was the 1860 census taken on 11Jul1860 in Palo Pinto Co., Texas. This microfilm, which is in the Public Library in Waco, TX, shows the following:

4. Martha 11 b.MO
5. Sarah 7 b.MO

Supposedly, the way the known children relate to the mothers are as follows:

Nancy b.1847, and Martha b.1849, and Robert b.1850 are from Wm. K.'s first wife Malinda.

The second wife Lucinda appears to have had only one child - Robert.

Sarah b.1853, Thomas b.1855, Jasper b.1857, and William b.1858 were from Temperance as listed on the 1860 census (third wife).

Christina N. b.22Jan1864, and Ira Peter b.28Apr1865 were both born on Clear Creek, Blanco Co. TX to Wm. K's fourth wife Eliza Jane (Loomis) Peters.

Mickel b.16May1874 d.08Nov1942, Stonehawon (Bob) b26Jul1877, Lydia b.04Aug1878, Fancho b.10Dec1881, Newell b.04Feb1884, Brennen b.22Aug1886, Mary Elizabeth b.Nov1888
were from Josephine Loomis, Wm. K.'s fifth wife.
